Why we started Every Wag
Every Wag started with something most pet owners know: leaving a veterinary hospital with a pet you love, a lot of worry, and instructions you now have to follow at home.
Lauren grew up around veterinary medicine, with a veterinarian father, a veterinary technician mother, and a clinic on the family farm. Josh has built software his whole career, and he loves dogs. Between us, we saw the same gap from both sides. Clinics work hard on every visit, then can’t see what happens at home, which is when owners need the most help.
After our dog Gryffin’s emergency splenectomy, we had questions about his incision, his activity, his medications, and what was normal. We were lucky to have veterinary family to call. Most owners don’t.
That experience lead us to create Every Wag for pet owners and Care Connect for clinics. It has grown past aftercare. Care Connect now helps clinics prepare for the visit, document the care, send the plan home, follow recovery, and stay in touch with owners between visits.
We’re a small team with no outside investors. What we build is shaped by the clinics doing the work and the owners trying to do right by their pets. We think good veterinary care shouldn’t stop at the front door.

We’re a small team led by the two founders, and this product is personal for us. When your clinic works with Every Wag, you talk directly to the people who decide what we build next.
Lauren grew up with a veterinarian father, a veterinary technician mother, and a clinic on the family farm. She learned early that good care is more than the medicine. It’s the whole experience.
She brings years of product leadership and keeps Every Wag built around how clinics really run: fast, often unpredictable, and dependent on everyone being in sync. Her focus is on helping staff enjoy their work and keeping clients informed about their pet’s care.
She makes sure Every Wag works for doctors, technicians, managers, and the pet owners who rely on them every day.
Josh has built software for his whole career. Every Wag came from something more personal: the stress of pet aftercare, and learning how much clear instructions matter when an owner is home alone with a recovering pet.
He leads engineering for Care Connect and the Every Wag app, which connect scheduling, medical records, and recovery in one system. He builds them to fit the way a clinic already works.
His goal is software that just works: fewer duplicate admin steps, fewer gaps in communication, and a more reliable path from the clinic visit to care at home.
